Chris L. Terry a writer, editor and educator will be leading the “Writing Significant Racial Moments for Young Characters” workshop on June 16, the Saturday of the upcoming Mixed Roots Festival. Growing up with a Black father and Irish-American mother influenced his fiction and non-fiction writing about biracial identity. He got his BA in English from Virginia Commonwealth University then spent five years in New York City working as editor. Chris is currently resides in Chicago where he is completing his Fiction Writing MFA at Columbia College Chicago. He works in the Office of African-American Cultural Affairs and teaches juvenile inmates through Storycatchers Theatre.
